Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Catch Recap LLC, doing business as Charter Pro (“Charter Pro,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and shares information when you visit charterprolaunch.com or use the Charter Pro application and services (together, the “Services”).

Websites we build for operators are covered by their own policy. Charter Pro builds and hosts websites for fishing guides and charter operators, usually on the operator’s own domain. On those sites the operator — not Charter Pro — decides what information is collected and why, and each of those sites carries its own privacy policy naming the operator. Charter Pro acts as the operator’s service provider, handling that information on their instructions. If you booked a trip or filled out a form on a charter operator’s website, that operator’s privacy policy governs; this one describes only Charter Pro’s own services. Section 9 explains the division in more detail.

Charter Pro is based in the United States and intended for users in the United States. By using the Services, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide to us

• Account information: your name, email address, phone number, password, and (for operators) your business name and details.
• Payment information: when you subscribe, payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We receive billing details and subscription status, but we do not store full payment card numbers.
• Content you submit: business information, photos, trip and rate details, and other content you provide so we can build and operate your site, plus any messages you send us.
• Visitor submissions on operator sites: when someone uses a booking or contact form on a site we host (for example, a “Request a Date” form), we collect the information they provide — such as name, phone, email, requested date, party size, and notes — on behalf of the operator.

Information we collect automatically

• Usage and device data: pages viewed, links clicked, referring pages, browser and device type, and similar analytics data.
• IP address: collected for security, fraud prevention, and rate-limiting. For first-party site-traffic analytics we hash IP addresses and do not store them in raw form.
• Cookies and similar technologies: see “Cookies and tracking” below.
• Product analytics and session recordings: we use analytics tools that may record how visitors interact with our marketing site and dashboard (such as clicks, scrolling, and navigation) to help us improve the product. Where session recording is used, both the text you type into form fields and the text displayed on the page are masked before the recording leaves your browser — the masking happens on your device, so the underlying text is never transmitted to or stored by our analytics provider. Session recording runs on charterprolaunch.com and the Charter Pro dashboard only. It is not used on operator websites, so visitors booking a fishing trip are never session-recorded by us.

Information from other sources

• Publicly available business information: to build operator sites, we collect information about fishing guide and charter businesses from public sources and providers, including Google Business Profile data, public business listings, and public reviews (which may include reviewer display names).

2. How we use information

• To provide, operate, build, host, and maintain the Services.
• To process payments, manage subscriptions, and provide customer support.
• To send transactional messages (such as verification, booking, and account emails) and, where permitted, product and marketing communications.
• To measure, analyze, and improve the Services and our marketing.
• For advertising and measuring the performance of our advertising.
• To detect, prevent, and address security issues, fraud, and abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. Cookies and tracking

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies (including browser local storage and session storage) for essential site functionality, analytics, and advertising. Specifically, on charterprolaunch.com and the Charter Pro dashboard we use:

• Strictly necessary: sign-in and session cookies, and a cookie that remembers your light/dark theme preference.
• Analytics: PostHog (product analytics and session replay) and Google Analytics, which set cookies and use local storage to measure how the site is used.
• Advertising: Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, which set cookies used to measure ad performance and to show you ads.
• Attribution: session storage that remembers how you arrived at the site (for example, which ad or search you came from) for the length of your browser tab only. It is deleted when you close the tab and cannot be used to recognize you on a later visit.

How we respond to “Do Not Track” signals

We honor Do Not Track. If your browser sends a Do Not Track (DNT) signal, our product analytics — including session recording — does not run and does not store anything on your device. Some browsers and privacy tools also send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal; where they do, we treat it as a request to opt out of advertising and analytics tracking.

Third-party tracking across other sites

Third parties, including Google and Meta, may set cookies through our site and use the resulting information to build a profile of your activity across other websites and to target advertising to you elsewhere. We do not control what those companies do with information they collect once it reaches them. Google explains its practices at business.safety.google/privacy, and Meta at facebook.com/privacy/policy.

Your controls

You can control or opt out of analytics and advertising tracking at any time by: turning on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser; adjusting your browser settings (including disabling or deleting cookies and third-party cookies); using browser privacy tools or an ad blocker; opting out of ad personalization directly with Google or Meta; or emailing us at contact@charterproapp.com and we will honor your request. See also “Your privacy choices” below.

4. How we share information

We do not exchange your personal information for money. However, our use of advertising and analytics technologies does involve disclosing information to those companies, and under several U.S. state privacy laws that may count as a “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” even though no money changes hands. We describe exactly what is disclosed below, and how to opt out, so you can make your own judgment rather than relying on a label.

• Service providers (sub-processors): companies that perform services on our behalf, under contract, including:
  • Supabase — database, authentication, and storage hosting
  • Stripe — payment processing and billing
  • Vercel — website hosting and analytics
  • PostHog — product analytics and session replay
  • Google — analytics and advertising
  • Meta Platforms (Facebook/Instagram) — advertising measurement and ad targeting, both through the Meta Pixel in your browser and through server-to-server conversion reporting
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Cloudflare — image and file storage / delivery
  • OpenRouter and Anthropic — AI processing used to generate site content
  • yourprogress.app — internal notifications to our own team when someone requests a demo or starts a trial
  • Data providers (such as Google and Outscraper) — public business information used to build operator sites
• With operators: booking and contact-form submissions made on a site we host are shared with the operator who owns that site.
• Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Charter Pro, our users, or others.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

What we disclose to advertising and analytics companies

So that this is concrete rather than general, here is what actually goes to Google and Meta when you use charterprolaunch.com or the Charter Pro dashboard:

• Your IP address and browser user-agent string, which together indicate your approximate location and the device and browser you are using. These are sent in unencrypted form, including on our server-to-server conversion reporting to Meta.
• Advertising cookie identifiers set by Google and Meta in your browser, and the click identifier from an ad you clicked to reach us.
• The pages you visited and actions you took — for example starting a trial, requesting a demo, or completing a subscription — along with the subscription value where relevant.
• Your email address and phone number, one-way hashed (SHA-256), when you sign up or subscribe. Hashing lets Meta match you to an account they already have without us transmitting the address itself; it is not anonymous.

We do not disclose to advertising companies the contents of forms you fill out beyond the fields listed above, your password, your payment card details, or the content you upload to build your site.

Because this activity uses advertising cookies and identifiers, it may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law, or “targeted advertising” under other state privacy laws. We have enabled Meta’s Limited Data Use setting, which instructs Meta to handle information from visitors in U.S. states with applicable privacy laws under restricted, service-provider terms rather than using it to build advertising audiences. You can opt out entirely as described in “Your privacy choices.”

5. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

6. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including access controls and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on where you live, and in particular if you are a California resident, you may have the right to:

• Know and access the personal information we hold about you;
• Request deletion of your personal information;
• Request correction of inaccurate personal information;
• Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, and of targeted advertising (see section 4 for exactly what we disclose and to whom);
• Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@charterproapp.com. We will verify your request and respond as required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

To opt out of analytics and cross-context behavioral advertising, you can:

• Turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser. This is the fastest route and requires nothing from us — we honor these signals automatically, and no identity verification is needed. Several browsers (including Brave and Firefox) and privacy extensions can send them.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
• Email us at contact@charterproapp.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share,” and we will honor your request. We will not ask you to verify your identity or create an account to opt out.

8. Children’s privacy

The Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Operator websites and other third-party sites

Websites we build and host for operators

The fishing guides and charter operators who use Charter Pro are independent businesses. When we build and host a website for one of them, that operator decides what information the site collects and what it is used for — including whether to install their own Google Analytics, Google Ads, or Meta Pixel tracking — and the information belongs to them. In privacy terms the operator is the controller (or “business”) and Charter Pro is their service provider, handling that information only on their instructions.

Each operator website carries its own privacy policy, linked from the footer of that site, naming the operator and describing what that particular site collects. If you visited a charter operator’s website, that policy applies to you, not this one. If you want your information removed from an operator’s site, contact the operator directly; you may also email us at contact@charterproapp.com and we will pass the request to them and assist as their service provider.

Two things on operator websites are chosen by Charter Pro rather than the operator, so we disclose them here: we count page views using a first-party measurement system that sets no cookies and never stores a raw IP address, and we load web fonts and embedded maps from Google, which means your IP address is sent to Google in order to fetch them.

Other third-party sites

The Services may also link to third-party websites and services that we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to them, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes may be communicated through the Services.
